Nutraceuticals in Practice: Promoting Wellness and Gastrointestinal Health in Your Patients

by Jan Suchodolski, med.vet, Dr.med.vet, PhD

Although veterinary medical research findings on use of nutraceuticals lags behind reports in the human literature, nutraceuticals are receiving increasing attention and current findings in veterinary medicine are very promising. Nutraceuticals have been employed to help manage hepatic injury, and maintain joint health, urinary tract health, and intestinal health in dogs and cats. Nutraceutical supplements known as probiotics have also received attention for their effect on intestinal microbiota and their role in improving intestinal health and facilitating the management of certain gastrointestinal diseases. This webinar, brought to you by Nutramax Laboratories, Inc., will review current research findings on the use of nutraceuticals and probiotics in small animal clinical practice.
